Re: Confirmed: Chase Freedom 10+10 Program discontinued...

I looked online today, and Chase is still advertising the Exclusives Program.  If it were discontinued, why is it still showing online?  I have it, and I wanted to make sure that I have it so I sent a secure message to customer service and here is their response:

Dear ,

Thank you for contacting Chase.

I want to confirm that, your account has been upgraded to
Freedom Exclusive Rewards and the upgrade was effective
10/31/2012.

Further, purchases made after that date will earn rewards
as per Freedom Exclusives.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,

Re: Confirmed: Chase Freedom 10+10 Program discontinued...

Well if that's the case, I'd like to say I'd be pissed about being "tricked" into applying for the Freedom before I was planning to, but I did get a good card with a 5k limit out of the deal.

It was just a rumor and it ended up being false. You can't blame Chase for that.

Interesting enough, when you go to the Chase Exclusives page on their website, and click on the 10 & 10 program for more details, it comes up with a "page cannot be found' message.

Unless they rang you or sent you something telling you to apply before it ran out, you weren't tricked.

Re: Confirmed: Chase Freedom 10+10 Program discontinued...

I sent a secure message to Chase yesterday and got the response below.  I had PC'd to a Freedom a week or so ago but didn't have a checking account yet.

"Thank you for contacting Chase.

Regrettably, the Chase Freedom Exclusives 10 & 10 rewards
program is no longer available. Hence, we are unable to
upgrade your Freedom account ending in **** to the
Exclusives program. Instead, you will be receiving a 10%
annual bonus on all new points earned on purchases made
next year. However, to earn the 10% annual bonus you need
to have an active checking account at the end of the year.

As per the current Freedom Ultimate Rewards program, the
rewards earning structure is as follows:

Points are earned for every dollar charged to the card.

- 1 point is earned for every $1 spent on purchases.
- 2 points are earned for every $1 spent when you book
airfare and hotel accommodations online through Ultimate
Rewards.
- Additional 4 points for every $1 spent on multiple
categories that rotate each quarter (spending cap of
$1,500 per quarter).
- Additional rewards for purchases made via the Ultimate
Rewards Mall (as per the available promotions).

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center."

Re: Confirmed: Chase Freedom 10+10 Program discontinued...

Yeah I spoke to another representstive today and she confirmed that it would have to have been grandfathered in prior to November 11. The new exclusives program just is 10% annually as opposed to monthly and I'm not sure if the 10 points per transaction comes into play.
