I had a few cards with capital one over the years. The last one was closed in 2004. I called two separate departments and no one could pull up my account information. My information is simply not in their system anymore. One person told me they keep the information for 10 years (obviously not true) but the other told me they keep it for 5 years.
The information will fall off next year due to SOL so I figure I'll leave it alone. Nonetheless, the thought crossed my mind to dispute it just so they would have to delete it. However, I doubt the deletion of 2 60-day lates from 2004 is really affecting my credit that much these days.
