Costco AMEX

Right, I use my debit as well there.  But what I'm saying is, if I have a amex do I still need to pay $40 for a costco membership card or can my amex be my membership card?

"No Annual Fee with your paid Costco Membership", but I think the AMEX card becomes your de facto Costco membership card.

isn't that a feature associated with that particular card. i mean i couldn't whip ouy my skymiles and expect them to honor that as a membership as well?
