Re: Costco Amex Drama - my impulsive action!

Congrats OP, you dodged a bullet. Smiley Happy

So the AmEx Costco has the exact same CLI policies (61 days, then every six months)? My friend with a Costco AmEx said it's different.

TU FICO: 800 (2/1/14) | CK Score: 802 (2/1/14) | CS Score: 805 (2/1/14)

J.P. Morgan Palladium ($250k) | AmEx Platinum (NPSL) | AmEx SPG Personal/Business ($50k/$50k) | Citi Executive AAdvantage WEMC ($50k) | Citi Dividend WEMC ($50k) | Chase Sapphire Preferred VS ($50k) | Chase Ink Bold WEMC ($50k Flex) | Chase Ink Plus WEMC ($25k) | Chase Freedom VS ($25k) | Chase Freedom WMC ($25k) | Chase MileagePlus Explorer ($25k) | Chase Southwest RR Plus Business/Personal ($15k/$15k) | Barclays US Airways ($25k) | Barclays Hawaiian Airlines ($25k) | BofA Alaska Airlines ($10k) | Lexus Financial Services ($30k) | Mercedes-Benz Financial Services ($50k)

Yup, same standard policy.  They also do auto CLIs but that's not so common.  Just remember it's the 3x rule.  181 days for a CLI is the technical answer.

Chase Sapphire Preferred - $18,000; Chase Freedom - $4,500; Chase Amazon - $3,000; Chase Ink Bold - NPSL; Amex Plum - NPSL; Amex True Earnings - $30,000; eBay Mastercard - $1,500; Capital One Platinum - $500; Logix Platinum Rewards - $15,000

Re: Costco Amex Drama - my impulsive action!

So happy it worked out in your favor Yay

And you won't forget to ask question again right? Smiley Wink Lol

In 61 days ask for an CLI to 24,900

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

When should I ask for 3x CLI?

Read the 3X CLI thread.

+1 for the don't make impulsive decisions (opening, closing or anything else) recommendation.  Think it through and ask for feedback.

Having an Amex is always a good idea unless you cannot afford the AF.

No AF on the TrueEarnings as long as Costco membership is maintained.

How come have to be less than 25,000? May I ask for 30,000? Smiley Surprised
