In essence my friend has multiple credit card accounts. She has a few lates from 2007/2008 and 1 medical collection ($35) in dispute from 2007 as well. She has quite a few low limit cards and it has resulted in high utilization about 70-75% She hasn't been late in 48+ months, Equifax FICO about 670 (Collection reporting on this report and her Transunion is higher although not a FICO score Creditkarma has it at 690-700. She continues to pay down her balances with her Aveage age of account being 5 years and oldest account being 16+years. She has about 2-5 inquiries on each report but all are over 6+months and most are 1+years. She would like to do a balance transfer on the accounts that have low limits and charge annual fees, etc.
Probably would really know current balance and credit line for each account.
Also if she wants to BT all balances or?
Also, she needs to figure out realistic time period for her to pay back. Also honest with herself whether a new credit card that she BTs to will result in her spending more money on her newly freed up cards. No need to close the other cards, but definitely sock drawer them. I personally would look at a credit union. They typically can be more generous and understanding but definitely do the research first. Citi has some good BT card will long period at 0% but remember there are probably BT transfer fees and once 0% goes away, interest rates are likely to be really high.
I would app for a Discover More Card if approved. The score looks good. I was approved @ 665 .Do a transfer to Discover and do not use any CC's from there until balance is paid. From there pay off the medical bill and send a G.W to the creditor to get it removed from the big 3. My 2 cents
Why did you erase the thread basically?

Corrected! I will guess that the info was highlighted when I added the other info.
I would think some of the best BT cards are Citibank cards. I believe right now they're at 18 months at 0% (probably a small fee).

+1
She should probably stop using the cards. A balance transfer isn't going to fix the problem if she's simply spending too much.
