I'm currently thinking of applying for a Discover it card and Chase card. Currently I have a lot of purple envelopes (3 ap range) from discover and a lot from chase. The only problem is that all these envelopes are from my parents address (which are out of state), I moved about 8 months ago to a different state. So in this situation would it be better to apply for these credit cards without using the invitations codes? For Discover should I have a friend refer me instead?

Just have a friend refer you. Those invitation codes are basically just marketing, so it won't hurt you not to use them.
will the fact that I moved 6-8 months ago effect my chances?

check chase pre-qual online using your new address.
checked and prequal for chase and says choose one of your prequalified offers and theres three cc. And discover I prequal with 3 apr range. How accurate are both of these as far as acceptance?
