Re: Credit Card Apping for 2008

Once I hit 720 x2 plus EQ above 700, and if I can GW off at least one late:

1 AmEx charge--probably the greenie (I'm cheap!)
1 AmEx credit--whichever has no BT fee and lowish BT interest
Discover Motiva
one more good BT card

I'm planning remodeling, and I would love to delay putting the expenses on the HELOC, if I can do lower/ 0% interest for a while.

If the economy goes to hell, though, I'm OK, I'll just use the HELOC as planned.

Re: Credit Card Apping for 2008

My 2008 Master Plan:

January: First Amex CLI
March: Join Delta CCU, get the Visa
August: Close Orchard secured
September: Accept Target's Visa upgrade offer :smileytongue:
October: Product change - Delta Skymiles to Blue (maybe Blue Cash, but most likely Blue)

I'm still stinging from my Macy's and Hooters denials from a few months ago, and part of me wants to reapply for those cards, just to prove I can get them now.  I know that's not a good reason to apply, though, so I will restrain myself.

App free since 7/11/08.

I dont think I need any more cards, may be since I have HSBC Discover now, try to get a real Discover Card. Get some more baddies out of the CR and reach mid 700's

Re: Credit Card Apping for 2008

For me who knows?

Depends on what stores are having fantastic shoe sales, or purse sales they've got going on at the time! If they are great, knowing me, I'll probably succumb to temptation and go for a store card. grrrr. I hate when that happens.

Bank cards? No clue. Joining a CU is looking good.

But the main priority is getting higher cl's on my existing cards, if possible.

Re: Credit Card Apping for 2008

I only have one card in mind its a regional bank in my area called M&I Bank.  They have a rewards CC that I am dying to get.  The program is great and straight forward, IMHO.  I have accounts with them and have the rewards debt card, so the CC will just add to my rewards!

Unfortunately they are ULTRA conservative, so I need to get my scores up to be able to app.

myFICO is the consumer division of FICO.
