Credit Card Application

Some of you may know that I recently went on an app spree, and was approved for many cards even though my fico score was 680. Well on myfico.com my equifax score was before I hit submit, and still is today a 680. However, on one of my denial letters that I recieved today from chase (I have already reconned and got approved) they have my equifax fico score as 740 ?!?!?!?!?!?!? That certainly explains the approvals. Why such a big difference?
