Re: Credit Card Payment Tactics- Best Practices

After a long road to rebuilding, I now have 2 credit cards which I plan on using for most of my purchases to maximize the points.

I selected the auto pay-in-full option, but I'm not sure if that is the best strategy to use when making payments?

Should I pay down the card mid-month and cary a small balance?

Not sure what the best way to manage the actual payment of the cards.

Thanks!

I PIF once a week (every Sunday).  I choose not to do auto-payments only because I want to have total control over what gets withdrawn from my bank account (I've had mistakes made by a biller using auto-pay which resulted in needless overdraft fees from my bank).

I guess it doesn't really matter...whatever works best for you.  As others have said, if you can PIF, you should.  No need to pay interest if you don't have to...
