Pappy214...I am in the same position as you. I find myself feeling the same way! Being a beginning credit re-builder and all. Just to let you know though, I know that at least my EQ and EX scores are in the high 500's unfortunately and I did get approved for a card with Household Bank (HSBC), Credit One, Macy's, and I was approved for a Cap One card about eight months ago, but I applied for the student card with CapOne (not sure of my score then). Although my CL's are low, they are still cards that will approve you with a low score, not sure who they pull from, which all may be dependent on other factors too. But either way, the way I feel, with a score below 600, you are going to flush money on annual fees, interest, etc. to rebuild.
