Honestly, given that his Car Loan + Furniture Account is only about 2 months old the options went down quite quickly. Right now I think the easier card to get would probably be a Walmart Discover Card, a Secured Card, or as an AU on one of your accounts or his other parent.

the interest on his car note is 18%, yea its a BHPH but it served it's purpose. Got him a truck and started his credit. Same with the furniture store.

Well when he opens the checking and savings talk to them telling them his goal is to built credit, refinance the truck and pay off the furniture ASAP!

After the CU, he can try SDFCU secured card. They do not HP for secured cc's and it reports to all 3. Rates are low too.
