Credit Card company's and when they report to CRA

I'm assuming this is a YMMV situation, but I just took the time to call all my banks change when my due date is, and while doing that asked when they report the CRA

this is what they told me.

Amex reports on your statement end date

Capital one 3 days after statement ends

Citi reports at the end of the month regardless of when your statement is

Chase the day after your due date

Discover week after your statement ends

Hope this helps!

Amex BCE $14k (backdated to 1/11), Chase Freedom $500 (11/2012)
Discover It Student $3k (3/13), Citi Dividend Platinum Visa $3k (3/13)
Capital One Cash Rewards Visa $3.5k (3/13)
Starting Score 3/20/13 - TransUnion FICO 758 - Goal Score 800

Re: Credit Card company's and when they report to CRA

When they report is very different than WHAT they report.

I have found all four of my credit cards to report the balance from the statement end date regardless of which date they submit this information to the bureau.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000

damn, I am way to lazy to call them all back again to verify what they are reporting on those dates, I will just have to check my report in the coming months to see what amounts the report

I wish I had thought of that while on the phone with them

but I know for at least some they did tell me it was the amount my card had on it on that date regardless of the statement balance, but I can't rememeber which ones

@SnackTrader

I see from your siggy that you have 4 out of the first that I have, so I can assume that is what they will be reporting...that was lucky

so now I'll just pay attention to what Discover reports

You can always check this for yourself by pulling your reports for free at annualcreditreport.com.

Wait until you second or third statement closes and then reconcile the balances on your reports with the balances on the card. I can't guarantee that you will have the same experience I have had with these four cards, but from my experience the statement balance has been reporting.
