Credit Care denial

I was gardening but I need an MRI so I took the leap and applied for the Credit Care credit card.  I was denied.  It says my score is 627 thru TU and I have other GE cards.  I was not expecting a denial.  I read the threads on here and asked for more than I needed so they could counter.  I called and she said that regardless of what I asked for if they were going to approve me they would have approved me for the lesser amount.  (as in I wasn't denied for asking for too much)

Denial reason were:

-too many credit inq's (not sure how many I have right now, I didn't think it was THAT many tho)

-highest ratio of revolving balance to credit limit is too high

-ratio of open account balances to open credit limit is too high

-total age of accounts is too low

I have about 40% utl right now. AAoA is 1y 9m.

Does any one have any suggestions or am I just out of luck??

Re: Credit Care denial

I don't know GE to almost ever recon a denial... they can only usually recon a limit.

If your util is on the other GE accounts that would be your biggest denial reason.

Re: Credit Care denial

My other GE is an Old Navy card with $300 CL and $60 balance.

Re: Credit Care denial

As CreditAddict stated, GE will not recon a computer denial.

Perhaps you can have someone cosign for you.

Re: Credit Care denial

I really didn't want to take aditional HP.

Does any one have any knowledge as to whether the amount asked for actually affects the decision?

no it counters what they can approve for vs what you asked for.

Re: Credit Care denial

Maybe it's the 1yr AAoA.

CareCredit seems to be tightening up a bit. They lowered a whole bunch of very high CL's, as a result of the split.

+1

The decision is based on your credit profile amongst a few things, not what you asked.
