Sounds like you just need to call. I would call today and not tomorrow if they're open... they should be today.

Imposible for us to say on both questions.  There's no fixed trameframe between apps that applies to everyone.  It all depends on what one's credit supports.  It's possible that your second AmEx may get approved.  If not approved then you need to apply when the reason(s) for denial is/are addressed.

Calling won't help.  If they need to contact you they'll let you know.  AmEx doesn't really recon unless there's incorrect information in your report(s).
