With Citi selling off it's Diner's Club unit to a Fort Worth investment firm, they may be in the market for something.

On the other hand, they've faced such huge losses due to the mortgage meltdown, that Citi (and MANY other banks) just might be consolidating and hunkering down to weather out the storm. Who knows? I sure don't.

Personally, I'd like to see Chase purchase WaMu.

CAPONE is HUGE.  They don't need bailing out.  Besides CITI just got bailed out with foreign money.

Poor first premier.  I just got an e-mail offer  with theit 250 (maybe offer) and 178.00 in charges.  Are they in their right minds?

I wish Discover would purchase HSBC  HSBC has a lot of retail stores under the credit cards to take them over would be a HUGE accomplishment!

HSBC is a piece of $%&#.   Discover should only buy them if they can replace all of their CSR's and stop cancelling cards for non use without any notice...........
