Credit card question

Hi guys,

I had a question about the age of accounts on my credit score. I got my first credit card 2 and a half years ago. Since then I have been able to get 2 other credit cards and a car under my name. Now I want to close my first card because it is a secured card for a super low limit and honestly its useless to me....But I want to keep my age of oldest account to at 2 and a half years. If I close this card will I loose my credit age history? Thanks for your help.

Re: Credit card question

That card will still count as part of your AAoA once it is closed, as long as it reports. Closed accounts generally report for ten years after the date the account is closed.
