Hi, to james thread, have you been consistent in purchasing from Crown Jewelers.  On your last purchase did you have to send in any down payment.  Just curious as my sixth month is coming up shortly and I would hate to have $500.00 starting to report on my reports.

I have indeed ordered something from them from time to time.  I think that I owe like $50 now.  The last time that I ordered, no, I did not have to pay a down payment.

Thanks James, we couldn't get an anwer from anyone that had the card for longer than 6 months. We shall see on my statement update on the 6th. I did see on the site that your credit limit after the six months is determined by your average spending habits and payment amount within that six months. $500 would be the lowest credit limit.

Well Bella, I made it to my 6th month and they did in fact lower the credit limit to $500 with no down payment. Sucks. Hopefully they give regular credit limit increases.

I've had my Crown Jewelers account for 9 months now and I'm still at $2,500.00.  I still have to give a down payment if I wanna place an order. First purchase was for $100.00 and I made my second purchase of $36.00  in October.

I've had CJ for almost one year, bought one thing.  CL is $2500.  I do have a $30 credit on this account, that's probably why they're keeping it at $2500.

A credit on the account?  How did that happen? 

Mine was opened almost 6 months ago (toward end of the month), is paid off, shows a 2500 CL.

I've been thinking about making another small purchase before the 6 months is over and hope my CL stays the same (It's my highest right now, lol!)

The credit limit is dependent on what you spend and how you pay, I found out too late. I made 1 purchase for some diamond studs, paid it off in 6 months. I have a regular charge card with no down payment, but the catch is they lowered my credit limit. Had I made a more expensive purchase and took longer to pay it off, then I possibly would have received a $1500 to $2500 cl.
