Just curious who else has this practice?

I don't know anyone else, but I'm sure their are many others. Offering these tradlines have become a very lucrative business just do a Google search they are everywhere. I would stay away from these sites..nothing but trouble cartercorp. These tradelines are bogus...or borderline bogus and subject to be deleted.

Darn it.  It is gone from mine too.  I wouldn't have even noticed if I had seen others talk about it here.  I wish I would have noticed this before I applied for Christian Community CU CC--I applied specifically cuz I knew they would pull EX.  I guess I can always hope--their INQ hasn't shown up yet, so maybe CJ will get this fixed before CCCU does their pull...okay, not even I can think that positive.

Experian probably doesn't like the pay to play scheme that CJ has

Explain this for me.

They consider CJ a boarder line phony tradeline reporter.

Explain this also for me.

It is well known that Crowne Jewlers runs a pay to play (or pay to report tradlines) it's borderline. This depends on your level of legit reporting but I do know this, Experian fraudulant Specialist are always on the hunt for these pay to play, or pay to report schemes and they delete tradlines everyday because of it.

That's all I'm saying, it's well known that Crowne Jewlers is one of those companies that offers these services, stated income, limited verification, or no verification for that matter as a friend of mine has this very card.

Applied for it, they didn't verify anything according to him, just wanted him to make a deposit on some items he had to buy before they would report. "That's Pay to Play", your requiring a customer to pay or make a deposit for merchandise and your tradeline reporting is contingent upon this and under Experians reporting rules for vendors "NOT LEGITIMATE"

Sounds like pretty much every CC issuer. That being said the nature of what they do and now the do it has always been fishy.

I been trying to find out everything i can about this Crown Jewlers situation and It's not looking good for those who hold accounts Smiley Surprised  Just got off the phone with a friend of mine, he works for Equifax only been there a few years.
But the skinny is as follows, some time ago Crown Jewelers was flagged by Equifax as being a Bogus merchant tradeline provider hence Equifax stopped reporting their tradelines because if anyone remembers Crown used to report on Equifax now it doesn't, thats the reason.
Now fast-forward to present day and Experian has flagged them as well, hence all of everyones tradelines disappearing overnight. CROWN JEWLERS I'm afraid might now be DEAD at least on Experian.
Trans Union is the lone gunman out there now and I would assume they aren't far behind Equifax & Experian.

Re: Crown Jewelers no longer on Experian

I too have been victimized by EX. Strange thing about it was that my FAKO went up 7 points?! Maybe it's not so bad.....

Well, I guess I can pretty much stop overpaying for jewelry. This will leave Macys as my oldest (rebuilt) account.

I hope it's a blessing in disguise for everyone. Having to pay for that cheap overpriced garbage, just to maintain a tradeline, it's dispicable. Crown shame on you for this.Smiley Mad

My friend, NO ONE put a gun to either my head, or anyone else's to get a CJ account. At the time, my credit was crap and all CJ wanted was $25-$50 every 9 to 12 months. That is hardly a reason to denigrate CJ. People knew the deal going in. I needed something, they had it but was going to charge a tiny payment.

Yes it was a scam, but it was a scam for our benefit, not against it. Now, if they're just going to only report to TU, then it will hardly be worth keeping them, then. Thankfully, I still have my real Sterling accounts.

All the same, I think CJ provided a very decent hookup. $2500 credit line to just anybody?! C'mon......who can beat that? Well when I applied, it was $1500...still though.

Ex has stopped reporting CJ accounts in good standings, but I'll bet a dime to dollar that they will report accounts in negative standings.
