Csp question

Is the 2x on dining n hotels considered 2% cash back if redeemed for credit or cash back. Also if i use my csp for a hotel stay that i didnt book through chase portal would i still get 2x or 2%. Sorry im at work n cant call chase so i figured the good folks on myfico could help me answer this question. Thanks in advance for feedback.

Yes, each UR is worth 1c when redeemed for credit/cashback.  Of course, not the best use but if that's what you have to do...

Yes, any hotel booked outside of the chase portal will receive 2x UR. I recently booked a vaction through Costco Travel and appeared as a travel purchase on my statement for 2x UR earned.
