ive tried it on about 2 computers and 5 browsers.

is there supposed to be an image of a card that shows up next too that after you put the cid number in?

im logged into my amex account btw.

Re: Current Amex Members Apping Amex on website

Yep. Happened to me last summer. After repeated phone calls, including a conversation with one of their it people, I gave up and applied by phone. They had a million explanations, each different, but I have never gotten it to work, nor have I ever gotten the preapproval site to work, nor been offered any "upgrades". This despite 3 cards instantly approved, a 3x CLI instant approved, approval for 10k and 12k charges on zync. I've concluded that their web site is buggy and if you fall down the rabbit hole, you never emerge.

In wallet: Ink Plus 10k, AMEX TE 25k. In bag: CSP 16k, USAA WMC 15k, Hyatt 13k, United MPE 12k, AMEX HHonors 3k. In SD: Cap 1 QS 5k, Discover IT 7k. FICO 08 says my EQ is now 844, was 510 in 2010.

Re: Current Amex Members Apping Amex on website

I had this problem yesterday and today...

Here is how I handled it:

1. Log out of my online account

2. Go to the Personal Credit Cards, and click Apply Now on the one I wanted.

3. Where it says "already a cardmember"  I entered my card number, Card ID code, and last four of my Social instead of using the Login option.

4. Entered my income info and clicked submit

5. Wait about 30 - 60 seconds...  Approved Smiley Happy

I've had similar problems.  Try deleting cookies, or try a different browser.

Which card are you applying for?  Another thing to remember with Amex is that they often offer better incentives through partner websites.  I haven't checked currently, but as an example, they usually will have better bonus offers for Hitlon and Starwood cards through hhonors.com or spg.com.  Make sure you check around before applying for one of their products through their website.

I've gotten the same "waiting" icon using both firefox, and IE. I did what a few others did, and app'd online, not being logged in, then doing the "already a cardmember" addy. Goes through that way.

That is so weird, have you tried checking your app status to see if there is an app pending? I think otherwise I would definately call!

This is what I've always had to do. It has never worked for me while logged into my account, for some reason.
