Re: DISCOVER DENIED - CHECK OUT WHY

My guess is that somehow this is considered a duplicate application, and that one is in process.  Duplicates are automatically declined with no credit file pulled.  But when you call they don't have any record of two applications?

Re: DISCOVER DENIED - CHECK OUT WHY

Have you pulled your scores and report from this site to see if it was a hard or soft pull?  Also could your scores be the reson for the denial?

Re: DISCOVER DENIED - CHECK OUT WHY

Hmmm. A duplicate app could be a possibility if I inadvertantly pressed submit twice. But neither credit rep or analyst mentioned a dupe to me.

As for my scores being a reason for denial: absolutely possible, as well as the baddies still showing (paid, est fall off June & July 2013), and one open collection in disputeas as fraudulently opened. But the issue isn't being denied; the issue is that Discover claims app is still being processed and claims not to have pulled a credit report.

We have a winner! I just spoke with Discover and the rep told me this was a duplicate app placed online. What is ironic is I placed the app online, got the 7-10 message and called the next day to recon; at that time the rep entered a new application which was denied (derogs), and the original online app became null. A new denial letter will be sent and will hopefully show my FICO score; the bureau pulled was Equifax.

So now I await a decision from Chase (for the Slate line) and wait until August to retry for Discover (Chase, too, if need be); and then, no matter which outcome I get from those apps, off to garden all of 2014.

Re: DISCOVER DENIED - CHECK OUT WHY

I called Chase today. They still haven't received my identification documents for verification; I faxed them last Wednesday and it can take awhile for the faxes to get sorted and attached to your app, so its a wait game for now.
