I want to app for a discover card, just looking for an average score needed for approval as well as what they are most strict about: inq, utilization, new accounts, ect. Any help will be appreciated
Discover seems to favor no inq/new accts + some aged negs (I would only recommend this if you're pre-approved) or inq/new accts + clean report. Some people with negs but a very low number of accts get instant approval - I didn't get approved until my Fico was well over 700 and only after calling in.

I don't have discover myself, but according to this web site https://www.creditkarma.com/shop/creditcards/noannualfee you may need around 711 score (but as low as 676 was approved) to get Discover IT credit card approved.

Look on that website, it'll show posted scores of people who were denied or approved
I got approved with about 4 negs, a 686 score, plus inqs and a new acount.
This question has come up in these Forums many times in the past. Typical LOW scores that resulted in approvals for many respondents seem to range from about 650 to around 680, at least to my recollection. I recall there was at least one person last year who had a score of about 620 and was approved! Of course, YMMV! As to AVERAGE credit score, I would use the Credit Karma data from 2013, cited in some of the above messages, This data ranges from about 695 to a bit over 700.
I just got approved with only 621 Equifax . 11 inquiries and several new accounts. 1 derogatory on my report. Only got an 800.00 limit but I'm thanking my lucky stars first card other than store cards and capital one. Tried last month and was declined maybe they took pity on me.
The student version was a lot of my friends first card
