Well, last week Amex Zync was approved MUCH to my surprise, I was seriously intent on going in "garden mode " for the next 12 mos... then I thought, well, let me see what the discover pre-qualify link looks like and if it looks good I will app (that way the hardpulls would both fall off around the same time in 24mos).... long story short after about 90 seconds with my body twitching as the orange and grey wheel did circles and circles in came back APPROVED with 3,000 limit !! Whoo- hoo !! By far my highest CL with 0% for these first 15mos and 11.99-19% thereafter....Once again thanks to all the GREAT people on this forum with their willingness to share their experiences and wisdom...btw, I AM IN GARDEN MODE !! MarineVet and Credit Addict your posts have proved most useful over the last year !! Thanks
Congrats !!!
Can you share your credit profile? Do you know what bureau they pulled?
Congrats
You know the bad part is the more you get approved, the more you want to app for more. But in this case, i'm done for the next 12 months.
I have the traditional "thin file" I started in January of this year in a serious rebuild mode.I did not have ANY CC's only thing I had reporting were three medical collections from ONE underinsured hospital visit that totalled just about 3k. I took the major portion of the sample letters that folks have posted in the "rebuilding" section of this site. I successfully accomplished pay-for-deletes (after getting it in writing) with each of the CA's. My main stategy was to pay the entire balance in full to each, and NOT try to negotiate any kind of lowered settlement amount to give a little leverage to my cause. True to their word, each dissappeared from my reports between 3-60 days.
Fortunately, I had means to open a 5k CD at Wells then took out an installment loan using the CD as collateral.....put the $$ in my regular savings acct, then had payments auto-deducted for the last 8-9 mos.
I had in Feb dumped 2k in to a Wells Fargo secured card and 1k into a BBVA Compass secured card, followed by Kays, Macys, GEMB Walmart (all unsecured)...waited til April then landed an unsecured CAP1(500) with the "credit steps" now at 750......several months later i applied to a credit union and initially was rejected but was able to recon for a 500 CL @ 9.79% in July...took a few months off and Amex Zync went through last week...followed today by discover.... I havent pulled my scores for a bit but at last check here TU668...EQ660.. and CU in July had EX 678
Wow congrats, I also recently got approved for one!
