Dare I poke the Barclay BEAR?!

Hello all thanks for all the help.  My last app and approval was for a Barclay rewards mc.  Lately I have been flooded by citi and especially FNBO amex offers in the mail. The board says that you are VERY likely to get the FNBO card if you have a pre approval letter.   Should I wait or apply and hope the Big Barclay Bear doesn't notice?

Recently everyone that get the pre-approval from FNBO is approved including myslef. I know of at least 6 before my app and 2 since
