Morning GC!
Good Morning GC
I have had my reports frozen since I had many of my cards stolen this past summer. I liked having everything on ice because I had no plans to apply for anything and it ensured that no one could hp me without my express consent. I felt a lot more comfortable asking for increases because I knew any request would definitely be a sp.
The downside: I had a hard time keeping track of my score while my reports are frozen. I have been using USAA’s monitoring service, mostly because I got grandfathered into a good pricing deal that allows me to pull a report everyday if I want to. I called to ask them if freezing my reports was preventing me from seeing score updates when I didn’t see any changes. The CSR assured me that I simply had no score updates. She was wrong!
I recently thawed my reports to apply for US Airways & BJ’s. I decided to request a date range to give me the flexibility in my apps and to see if I saw any score updates. For months now I thought my scores were barely hitting 700. Today, USAA finally updated my scores: EX = 710; EQ = 746; TU = 724. I know these are not real scores, but it shows me that I have improved. I had thought about switching to myfico monitoring. However, I will probably keep my reports frozen and as far as I understand, myfico will also be unable to give me score updates with frozen reports.
So…all this to say…I’m excited to see my scores improve. I had thought I had made no progress. It shows me that I’m doing something right. I think I’ll hang out in the garden a while (my last app free period lasted nearly 6 months). My goals are to: get my scores above 750 across the board and to grab another SWA CP once mine expires at the end of 2015.

Well congrats on all of your progress, it's great to see things moving in the right direction

Great work sunkissed!
Thanks NG. Sometimes is hard to be patient. It's a lot easier when I can see some progress, even if the progress is small.

This is certainly true, patience can definitely be a challenge sometimes. I'm glad that you are able to see your hard work paying off
