Odd that two bureaus has it flagged as in dispute. My suggestion of contacting the lender via GW still stands.  A relatively thin file with a recent derog will be hard to overcome. If you had more TLs and the one 30 day it cpmight not be as glaring on your report.

Also, Amex primarily pulls EX - unless they double/triple pulled you the dispute flag was not an issue.

I'm sorry. I meant that neither TU or EQ show that line as "disputed". Only Experian has the "disputed by subscriber" message.

Let's try this again.  You have 1 positive TL with a $500 CL.  You have an auto loan.  Your other TL is showing as in dispute and thus not factored into the credit report as far as FICO is concerned.  

Comparing yourself to your co-worker who makes less money may be interesting if your files were exact.  Amex will want a cleaner file ESP with limited TLs. 

Once you you take care of the derog your chances of approval with increase.

UPDATE!

It's been 8 days now and application still shows as "In Progress"

No hits on TU or EQ yet. Sounds a bit like they might be hashing it over if it's taking this long soley going off of EX score.

I was approved for the Gold as well as the Costco TrueEarnings with a 647 EX so anything is possible.
