Hi All,
I have a Dell Preferred account that's been open since May 2011. I never used the account but now I'm thinking about purchasing a smart TV and wanted to take advantage of the 12 month special financing. However, the CL is only $1200 which is not enough. I called for a CLI today and was told they do not accepted CLI requests. Accounts are viewed each statement and CLI's are automatically applied if the account qualifies. Has anyone heard of this?
Thanks!!
Same thing happened to me several years ago. I've had a Dell Preferred Account since 2005 I believe. They raised the limit from $1500 to $3500 (where it sits now) during that timeframe, but never would give me a user-initiated CLI. They said the same thing they told you: can't request it, they just give it occasionally.
Mine started at $1,000 nearly a year ago.
I made a $483 purchase, and paid it off in six or seven months...long before the zero interest deal expired....
No CLI for me, either...
Opened my account 6/10 and had a CLI from $1500-$3000 on 12/10. Zippo since and I've spent well over $1K on new computers since then.
I guess they have changed because the one time that I requested a CLI, they gave it to me.
I opened my DPA in 2006 and the limit was $2000. I carried a balance of about $1200 (only making minimum payments) and I called them a little over 2 years later and requested an increase and they increased my limit to $3200 over the phone. I've paid the balance off since then and haven't used the card since 2007.

I believe they changed from CIT to Web Bank late 2009.
Now I know, thanks for the comments everyone.
