Don't feel bad. I was shot down too. I had a zero balance reporting and a 702 EX.

Yep, I was declined with a 717.  Who needs PSECU when I can get my EX score every 90 days after my AMEX CLI request decline? :smileytongue:

Re: Denied AMEX 61 Day CLI

I'm still trying to figure out what I do when it becomes CLI time. I carry a Amex Platinum and 6 months ago I had a $39k balance on it. Now it's $200. So when I applied for a BCP card, Amex went ahead and spotted me $20k out of the gate. Now is asking for a 3X CLI for that ($60k) really asking too much or should I go long but realistic for my history...say, $40k?

.......NPSL..…..…$28K….....….$25K.............$20K..............$20K..............$20K..….......$9.5K…........$7.5K.…........$9K..............$4.5K

Re: Denied AMEX 61 Day CLI

I have $31k revolving CL with Amex, ~$60k if you count that I can revolve up to $30k on my Green.  I'm always wondering if if they'll ever request tax docs; for that reason alone I'm done asking for CLI's with them.

1st 61 day Amex denial I have seen

There are plenty of threads in this forum documenting denials.

I have one of them. It's a lot more common than you think. So far, over the course of one year, I've only been able to raise my CL $500 with them.

Haven't tried again, won't try either. But the golden 3x on Day 61 isn't always a guarantee.

I got flat denied on my 61 day and almost one year later they requested tax forms for the CLI.

Submitted them twice and each time they re requested them.

Finally gave up. For some reason they kept saying the form was rejected.

Got another letter saying they want to give me the CLI, but have to have the form faxed again.

2 times ok three times is enough lol
