From my understanding is that it will use your pay funds first and then smart connect. So if you don't want that $50 used then just transfer it to your bank account.
This is correct. I have the smart connect, and it dips to my paypal balance. If I don't have enough to cover it, then it will take the remaning balance thru smart connect. Also, it's very slow posting transactions...at least to me.
Also, if I remember correctly, you can have the SC sets as default for any Paypal's transactions (aside from debit card), or just use it for debit card only.
Just wanted to give you a heads up about using your SmartConnect like a credit card.
I also received a $300.00 line, and linked it to my paypal debit card. As long as you run the card as credit, not debit - then you are eligible for 1% back.
With such a low line my goal was to use it to pay bills, then pay it off immediately - like I have been my CapOne rewards card. I wanted to get as much cash back rewards as possible.
The problem is - when you make a payment it literally takes almost 10-14 days to get your "spending power" back. It will show that you made a payment and the payment will post a few days later, but you won't have your available credit for well beyond that.
I rarely use it anymore because the available credit turn-around is ridiculously long.
Definitely do that =D
I am just going to use it to pay one bill that's around $150.00 then pay it off right away every month. That $1.50 will one day add up to a purse Hopefully when my line increases I can use it to pay my bigger bills.
But yes, that delay completely bites.
