Denied for Cap1, but got an offer in the mail?

It is exactly for what I applied for, the cap1 platinum, in which I was denied a few days ago.

They said I earned the offer and I was prescreened.

But, it does not say pre-approved.

Should I give them a call and ask if I am preapproved or should I just go ahead and go to the site it says and fill out my info.

No way am I giving up another credit pull to them though.

And remember, they pull from all 3 CRA's.

I would consider waiting a few months and then checking out their pre-approval website.  If you're not pre-approved at that point, don't app.  Until later.  Or never, whichever works better for you.

Actually, even if you are "pre-approved' they can deny the card. That is always spelled out in the fine print.

I am not sure but I think I have seen people say on here that sometimes Cap One pulls from all 3 Credit Bureaus

If you apply again they will deny you again i think there is a 90 day period between application.

Thank you all for the info.

Did they give you a reason for the decline?

Have you called them for a recon?
