Denied for Chase Sapphire Preferred; Recon for Freedom?

OK. I did something mildly silly. I apped for a CSP and got denied. I called the backdoor number. They said that I went BK in 2009 and because of that do not qualify for CSP. Yeah, I know. I should have done more research about how conservative Chase is.

I explained that I have had Chase checking for 15 years and have had Chase direct deposit for 5...have a good income etc. They would not budge.

Think I should call back and see if I can talk my way into a Freedom? I don't really need the card, but I feel like I wasted a hard pull if I don't get anything out of it.

Or, should I just leave it alone so I don't decrease the average age of my accounts?

You would not be able to use the same hp for a different product.  Up to you if you want to take another hp.

Wow, 09Lexie, if that is true. Forget it. I don't need the card and I certainly don't need another hard pull. I guess I will give it another year or so and try for whatever is the CSP equivelant again.

Curious. Did you try the Chase pre-qual site before app'ing?

I used the same HP for different Chase products.
