I have a "legitimate" sideline sole prop biz and file a schedule C, but I've read of people
getting the card with nothing more than an Ebay biz. You qualify based on your personal FICO,
but it doesn't report anything on your report unless there are derogs.
I'd caution a bit about using a biz card for personal spend. Most likely nothing will come of it unless
your account gets FR'd. They won't like mixing personal and biz spend at all if they see it on a review.
I personally would only go for a Biz card if I was going to only put business spend on it or perhaps if
my typical spending patterns were well under the radar.
So is the Chase Ink a hidden tradeline then? Do you think my EX would qualify me for it? Lol.
The problem with the business card route is that you either accept the risk when using the card for personal expenses or you exclusively only use it for business expenses. Since I don't really need a card for business expenses, I personally don't really want to take on the added risk of having a business card just to get a hidden TL. Doing this seems like a great way to get your personal accounts FR'd.
My DC account was set up the first week in October and I've had two statements since. DC has not reported yet. I just called them to see when they would be reporting. The CSR transferred me to a "lending specialist" who said "we can't give out that information because we don't know yet."

Could it be two statements with actual charges on them? My first statement was just the AF.

No, like you my first statement was just the AF.
Ill be closing in on my third statement in a little over 2 weeks. Still no reporting.

same here....and I hope it doesnt report. its one of my highest limits and I can fall back on that and just keep my others paid down.
I think it's safe to assume that it won't report unless you don't pay them. I applied for the US Airways MC on the 30th and Barclay's already reported the account to the CRAs according to myFICO. If DC were to report they would have done so way before the card even showed up in the mail.
BTW statement 4 of my DC card just cut today for me.

I know 80% of this thread is well over a month old, but if someone came across it via search I would like to address this specific post. If you are considering getting a business card just for the hidden tradeline and planning to list as a sole proprietorship and use your personal SSN you need not worry much about FRs because of personal spending. When you have a sole proprietorship there is a very large gray area of where personal expenses and business expenses meet. The owner is in fact the business, one and the same. It would be very hard for a CC company to determine whether your purchases are personal or business. If you were to buy a 25K diamond ring, sure that would be hard to justify as a business expense if you sell beanie babies on ebay, but dining, entertainment, phone bills, things of this nature would never be looked at twice.
