In fact, I was one of those who they gave it away to. I got the Premier at $15,000 and then applied for a CLI to $30,000 upon activation and was denied. The very next day I applied for the Elite and was approved for $15,000. That made no sense, but I took the 2nd card and never looked back.

I'd have loved to get at least a Premier for $10K

I never thought that they would approve a second card. Just took a chance at the time because TU inquiries were cheap back then.
