Discounted Citi Prestige annual fee...how long does it last?

 My BF is interested in applying for the Citi Prestige. I've read here on MF that if you apply in the branch - the annual fee will only be $350 instead of $450. Is this a one time discount? Or will the annual fee be $350 going forward as long as he keep this account open?

I opened citigold right about when I opened prestige. Downgraded to a standard checking account after I got my bonus for citigold. Only charged $350 for fee this year.

Didn't apply in branch, but I assume the same rules apply. Really don't have a clue though.

For anyone going for Citigold, there's a $400 bonus for a $15k deposit to a new checking account.

It's been a slow process with the Citibank account package, though (not the same as Citigold, but with a similar $400 promo). I applied 2 weeks ago and they still haven't created the account or begun the transfer.
