I've got that offer, too, and I'm not a new customer. I'm a very old customer.

I'm not sure, but it does seem like Discover prefers people who run balances. Maybe they offer the 2% to lure those they know will give it all back in interest charges.

I got the offer, and I haven't been running balances on my Discover card. I have in the past, on 0% BT offers but not recently.

I am also a very old customer, got the card in 1999.

Maybe they are just offering it to their old customers

Re: Discover 2% Promo May13th to 31st

Double and triple checked my offers and didn't see anything except for the 5% home improvement cashback.

Thanks for posting though!

[ Edited ]

I don't have the one OP mentioned but I do have the one about an extra 2% on spending in the caribbean.   Can't sign up online, says you have to call to get it.

Here it is: https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/help-center/account/caribbean.html

This is awesome actually because I'm headed to Jamaica in June! wo0t!

Re: Discover 2% Promo May13th to 31st

I don't have it either. Sucks, because I have some applicances purchases to make this month and I could have gotten 7% instead of 5%, but I'll take what I can get. :smileyhappy:
