Discover 5% Cashback for 3rd quarter

I'm not sure if this was posted here already, but it seems that the third quarter is gas. (at least, according to this: https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/cashback-bonus/cashback-calendar.html?ICMPGN=TSN_5CBB_TXT)

So far it's been disappointing categories for two quarters in a row. I'll definitely get gas to take advantage, but I do wish that Discover included something else, namely theme parks. There's only so many times I can fill my car up haha. I think they WANT the Freedom to outcompete at this point!

800+ across all three (via FAKOs) has been achieved! Current goal - Get down to 6 cards in total - sitting with 8 currently.

The Freedom has theme parks. And I thought Q1 was a great catergory. Too bad I only got to use it for 15 days.

Freedom has gas stations, theme parks, and Kohl's in the third quarter. So they're basically interchangeable in that quarter for me.

Discover is currently 5% at Six Flags theme parks. Since its not flagged as rotating category, it will probably carry over throughout the summer.

Yea I thought Q1 is good but the current is garbage for me. I need some gas luv!!!!!!!!!!! cmon Q3!!!!

Haha I guess that came off somewhat unclear - Q1 was awesome, and I definitely took advantage - it's just Q2 and Q3 are underwhelming. I'm glad to get gas for a quarter, but I doubt I'll be spending more than $500 on gas for Q3. That's why the Freedom looks so much more attractive by comparison.
