Discover APR reduction

Decided to hit up Discover chat to see if my account was eligible for an apr reduction. The rep said I was eligible for a 3% reduction, from 16.49% to 13.49%. I have had the card a little over 2 1/2 years and this is my second decrease. Started at 17.99, then went to 15.99 after the first year.

I got a question about Discover. I got it less than a month. My APR is 20.49%. I might carry a balance because of intro APR, but should I ask for APR reduction 1-2 mo before my intro expires? I'm going to carry 500-750 on my card.

@Anonymous You can request a reduction after 1 year.
