Since someone mentioned reading the source code I figured I would do it and tell you all what it says:

I did too...
I'm disappointed that no other category was added. My Discover won't be getting used much for the next 3 months.

Aye. I thought that too, but after I looked around our apartment and the grounds, I realized there are some things I would like to do anyway. I am not talking major construction but I'd like some plants and new lights and such.
I wont be pumping thousands through it like I do gas and other things but meh, is okay.
Yeah I put this card in my sock drawer last night.
Yes, it would.
I tweeted them to let them know my displeasure.
I just don't get the love for rotating quarter cards. Well, I understand that the cards can be good in themselves, but you are always at the mercy of whatever the issuer decides.
I can see that sometimes it could be good, you suddenly get a discount on category X which no other card gives, but I suspect much more usual is the "boring quarter" complaint. Some things have flexibility (I will wait to buy my XXX until one of my cards has that as a category) but other things you need now.
So, I much prefer the constant (till nerfed) categories of things like Citi Forward, Penfed, Amex BCP/E and, a little, Cash +. But I guess that is a minority view
