Hi,
I will receive my new discover more card in a few days from now and i need a slight bump on my starting credit limit. My question is: when will be the perfect time to ask for a higher starting credit limit, when i call in to ativate my card? Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks guys!
You can ask when you activate the card over the phone, but they will most likely you tell you to try in 6 months after. Either that or worst case, they'll tell you that it's a hard pull to consider the option... and even then, they might decline you.

Thanks for the info. I see that you have discover. how long have you had it, and how are they with CLI? are they a soft or hard pull for the CLI? do you love the card?
Want the honest version?
I've had Discover 2 months.
I love their customer service, I love that they gave me the chance to do a balance transfer and love the 18 months with 0% APR. It gives me a chance to pay off my debt with no interest for the next year.
I love that I'm getting 2% cashback for just paying my utilities with them.
But other than that and using the 5% cashback bonuses, my Chase Freedom and AMEX BCE get far more rotation and action than the Discover.
I've heard people say that after 6 months you can "toy" around with the CLI. Some CLI's are hard pulls if you ask for too much, but you can play with the numbers and that if you adjust for less, it can be a soft pull instead.
