How will I know if its a sp or hp? I'm going to go all out if I ask
If you request it online, it will tell you if its a soft/hard pull.

It tells you if its going to be a hardpull just read msg very carefully and/or if our not 100% sure call them and speak to someone in person. Discover CSR is pretty solid about communicating what type of pull will be required for your requested amount. If your using the auto system online you can try plugging in diffrent amounts and see if the message changes before accepting. As was mentioned earlier the more modest the CLI request the stronger your chance to get it with a soft. If you have lets say a 2k cL and request 8k cli expect a hardpull. You could probably get aways with a 2k soft in that scenario but probably will need to talk to them on phone. Just make sure you tell them I only want a soft pull no hard pull and tell them how much you want but say your willing to take a counter offer if they can not meet your requested limit. If they promise a soft they can put into the system any amount but chances are it will reject it and say hard pull needed but it might counter a 10k request with a 2k offer.

So this week will be my 6 months with discover should I request a CLI or wait for an auto CLI and if I do request how much?
I'd wait and see if any auto luv comes by 7th statement, then if your interested in one still go for it. It is usually a SP but they will let you know if it will be a HP.
I have read many post of people being declined a CLI they initiated only to recived a auto CLI a couple weeks later it was in most case for a small amount 2-300 hundred in the posts I can recall. So yes your still eligible for a auto. In fact you can receive a auto at anytime. Auto cli's by the system seem to be triggered by some hidden formula because people have posted about getting them in their third or fourth month. In fact I think although I am not 100% sure that auto cli's dont even reset the 6 month timer on soft pull cli customer initiated requests.

Where is the "love button"? Under the tab "credit Options"?
If I go there I see "increase my limit. Is that the love button?
I just got approved for a card on Monday and just gained acct access today, but still have not received my card yet, but it was shipped yesterday.
I don't dare hit that button yet, but was just wondering if that is the button.
Dang...I was approved on Sunday...let me go on to set up my online acct...but it still doesn't let me log in! I feel dissed!

What will it say? It's a hard pull?
It has been so long since I have requested a CLI on my discover Escape (soon to be IT once new billing period starts on the 7th) that I can not remember exact wording. However I think it says something to the effective that your giviing them permission to make a credit inquiry much like if you were applying for a new card. As I said earlier you can hit the love button anytime if your not eligible it just says call CSR. Every 6 months your eligible for online initiated just read the msg and if your still not sure call them.
I just hit the button a few days ago and it finally let me request a new limit. I tried 2k but it approved $500 without an HP so I took it.
