You don't have any Amex cards so you don't have to worry about FR's
They have countered me when I asked in June. I asked for a $1,000 increase and they said they can do $500
FR = Financial Review
Yes it you ask for too much they will counter offer if they think you are ready for a CLI

Thanks everyone and one last question (i think) i noticed people mentioning a button popping up occasionally (obviously it wont yet for me since i just got it) but is it when you login or do you have to go into the card options menu for it?
You have to go through the menus to get it

When you login beside the discover it card click on card details and it should show up there
I prefer using the automated phone system to request Discover It CLI's. If you have an offer available without a HP, the phone tells you how much and you can choose to accept it. If not, it just says it is transferring you to an agent to get more information. At that point I hang up, and a week or so later I get a letter from Discover saying my request was denied and that I qualify for a free copy of my transunion report, etc.
However, the letter referred to the date of the last free Transunion score that Discover generated. And checking Credit Karma shows that they did not do a HP (last CK update was 11 days after the date on the letter I recieved from Discover)
