I've heard of Amex backdating accounts, will Discover do the same?

Re: Discover Card

My first CC was a Discover back in 1996-7 and it was involuntarity closed within a couple of years. Fast forward to 2009, I got the More and no back-dating. I've never heard of any other CC, other than Amex, backdating.
