I applied May 2012 for a Discover It
Got the 7-10 Day Message
Called up and got a manual approval for 1000 limit
It is 2 1/2 years later and no CLI
I recently asked and was declined.
I just sent an email to the CEO email... no response yet....
Are they like Capital One? Anyone have any expericne?
Also, I did the CLI over the phone... is it best to do online?
SP?
Thanks!
I would like to get a 5K Credit Line with Discover.... they have 12 months no interest right now on Balance Transfers

No...but both show a tendancy toward conservative CLs, CLIs.
Anything's possible but Disco doesn't typically play that (EO intervention).
Use routinely and PIF...eventually will come around but not before they're ready.

Any Update on this?
In my experience, Discover is generous after you've had your card awhile and demonstrate good history. After about 6 months - 1 year of having it, they routinely have given me increases and better APR (the APR part I've had to ask for, of course). They have been nothing but good to me. But yeah, with them you can't expect a miracle right away. I know it's not what you wanna hear, but you can try and responsibly use the card for a few months and slowly, they should give you a better limit, etc.

Exactly my plan. Foot is in the door...

I think maybe when they originally denied you the first round and you did a recon they gave you a card with a low limit just to make you happy. Reminds me of some of those credit rebuilder cards that almost never give you a CLI

Discover does play EO intervention, i've talked to them on 2 different issues and my second time they had to take a day or 2 to look into my issue with their reporting of my account on my credit reports. I even emailed attached pictures of my credit reports and they got those too.
And also I don't think their CEO email may work but you would try.......
executiveoffices@discoverfinancial.com
Than's the email i have used and both times i got calls from Delaware.... also they even post their phone number on their website but its hidden deeply......
https://www.discover.com/company/our-company/corporate-governance/integrity-hotline.html
You want the number for " Executive Office of Customer Advocacy "
I hope posting this is not against the rules since its not anyones name its public facing so it should be fair game i hope.
Discover has given me relatively regularly scheduled CLIs of like 500-800$ every 8-10 months. Never asked for one (cause my button never works, always get an error) but I never use my discover card anyways.
