Discover / Freedom 5% Categories....

Discover 5% deals 2012

  • January – March: Gas stations, movies and museums, up to $1,500
  • April – June: Movies and restaurants, up to $1,500
  • July – September: Gas, movies and theme parks, limit TBA
  • October – December: Department, electronics and toy stores, limit TBA

Freedom 5% deals 2012

  • Q1 (January – March): Gas stations and Amazon.com
  • Q2 (April – June): Groceries and movie theaters
  • Q3 (July – September): Gas stations and restaurants
  • Q4 (October – December): Hotels, airlines, Best Buy and Kohl’s

this isn't funny lol I was hoping the Gas months would not overlap! basically it seems almost the same -_-; I do not like this at all, if they had different quarters for gas then we wouldn't need a 5% gas card lol

Re: Discover / Freedom 5% Categories....

I thought that Discover's last quarter is department stores and all online shopping, not toy and electronic stores...I know that the Citi Dividend has Macy's, electronics, and toy stores this quarter, but not Discover...

Re: Discover / Freedom 5% Categories....

I think the real question is: when do they announce 2013 categories?

Re: Discover / Freedom 5% Categories....

All I have to say is Chase better knock it out of the park next year.  This 4th quarter for the Freedom card was a dud.   BCP, Discover and the Cash+ have been filling the gaps quite nicely however.  Come on Chase, flights maybe but Bust Buy sucks!!!!

Amex BCP/Zync - Barclays NFL Visa Sig 49ers - BoA Travel Rewards - Cap 1 Cash Rewards - Citi Forward/Preferred - Chase Amazon/Freedom - Discover IT - Fidelity Amex - GECRB Amazon/Walmart - PenFed PRV - Target - US Bank CASH+
