Re: Discover IT Credit Limit

I had commented a few pages back on this thread. Afterwards I was thinking that it had been more than 90 days since the auto luv I had gotten. So I hit the luv button on discover.com and what so you know, another $1,500 added on. So my new limit is at $7,400.  I opened the card in Aug 13' with a limit of $1,500. So far I'm thrilled with the way this card has grown for me.

Starting Score (July 2013) Exp 665 Equ 658 TU 660
Current Score (Feb 2015) Exp: ??? Equ: 765 TU: 776

Amex BCE ($12,000) Discover It ($7,400) Cap1 Cash Rewards ($2,250) Cap1 Platinum ($4,500) Express Next ($1,450)

Re: Discover IT Credit Limit

Opened it in July 2014 with a $6000 SL. Denied luv button until last month where they gave me a whopping $600. Not super surprising, though. I have a balance on the card I really don't plan on paying off until June because I have 0%.

Hilton Honors $15,000 | AMEX Green | Chase Sapphire Preferred $9000 | Discover IT $6600 | Marriott Premiere Rewards $5000 | Chase Freedom $5500 | Barclaycard Visa with Apple Rewards $2000 | CapitalOne Quicksilver One $2000 | US Airways Dividend Miles $2400

Re: Discover IT Credit Limit

Just got my card Feb. 28th, with a starting limit of $2,000.  I might request  a CLI this fall.

Re: Discover IT Credit Limit

Approved on 01/31/2014 for limit of $6500 with 723 fico. In July I called to ask for an increase and was denied. That same month I made a purchase for $1200 and 3-4 days later received an email saying my limit had been increased to $8250. At the time, my usage was around 40%. I've been unsuccessful at getting another cli since then.

Starting Score: Nov. 2012 585
Current Score: EQ 733 EX 777 TU 743 Goal Score: 750+

Re: Discover IT Credit Limit

Soo how my Discover IT CLI journey has gone

got my card in Sept 14 -> CL was $1,500

in January 15 my luv button became active $1,500 -> $3,000

a month (Feb 2015) later luv button worked $3,000 -> $4,500

in March 2015, 5 days before statement cut auto luv $4,500 -> $5,000.

2 days after statement cut, i began a balance transfer of $2,500 on my account, and requested a CLI, 2 days after my CL went from $5,000 to $6,500.

since Dec 2014, i have had a zero balance on my account, but i have put an average of monthly spend of $300 a month.

my overal utilization on all cards is 7%. i hope my info helps someone. my TU score is 686.

Re: Discover IT Credit Limit

Well I pulled the trigger! Had them just do the hard pull :/ i hate hard pulls but it paid off the raised my CL to $12,000! They asked me what limit i wanted and I said 15k and they countered with 12k but hey at least they raised it!

Re: Discover IT Credit Limit

Not sure if I've already replied to this thread, but so far this is my experience with Discover:

Jan 2014: $6K (Initial CL)

Jun 2014: $6.5 (HP)

Sep 2014: $7K (HP)

Dec 2014: $8.5K (HP, but this time I told them a $500 CLI with a HP was ridiculous and insisted to talk to an analyst, who after some badgering increased it to $1.5K CLI)

Mar 2015: $10K (SP)
