Will call them tomorrow, but I'm curious...what happens if you don't call?  After all, it's only a suggestion.

Re: Discover IT... Strange Incident and Question

I'm curious too fuzzy bean. Don't really feel like talking about recent inquiries and why I recently opened up 3 new accts in the past 60 days. I wonder if I don't call if I'll just be denied? Because I have a feeling if they do a manual review on me and see 10 inquiries I'm going to be denied anyway. So is it best not to call and hope when they finally do review my app it's some poor dude in India who doesn't care and approves me anyway?

Re: Discover IT... Strange Incident and Question

Just called in. Was approved for a 2500 limit.

I was nervous to call in because I app'd last week for 4 cards. I thought for sure they'd deny for inquiries. It ended up hitting Equifax which has no inquiries in the past 5 months or so.

The first rep said, "Somebody is working on your app, let me transfer to them." I got through to a new acct specialist who said she was going to review my application and ask me some questions. Then she said, "I really don't see anything that would prevent you from getting the card today" and she approved me for 2500 limit.

WOOHOO... okay I am for sure in the garden now. This week I got:

Chevron Texaco: 1900

Walmart Discover: 1100

Chase Freedom: 3000

Lowes: 2000

and adding to that

Discover: 2500

I am officially seriously done for the next year or more. Thanks all for your information.

Re: Discover IT... Strange Incident and Question

Same thing happened to me, if you don't call they will call you. At least that's what they did to ask questions about my report before final approval. The better explaination the better your limit I expect. If you call you speed up the process.

Discover IT $17k / US Bank Ace (VSig) $13.5K / US Bank Cash+ (VSig) $13.5k
Sam's Mastercard $15k / Walmart Mastercard $10k / Blispay $7.5k PayPal Ex MC $10.8k
CareCredit 5k / Husq $5k / Cap1 QS $4.5k / Barclay Ring $5.35k / Citi DC (WMC) $12k
Gardening Date 7/01/16 / MyFico 08: EQ 801 / TU 777 / EX 771 / 06/08/17

Re: Discover IT... Strange Incident and Question

What kind of questions did they ask?

Re: Discover IT... Strange Incident and Question

For me, the only question that she asked was "Why do you want the Discover card" and I said "Because a friend has it and she really loves the card so I thought it would be nice to have as a primary card."

Kind of a silly answer but it was kind of true. Thinking back I should have told her I wanted a new kitchen so she could have given me 5000? hehe. I'm honestly happy to get anything. With my recent app spree I thought I was going to get a fat reject.

I was prepared to answer questions about inquiries and new lines of credit as I'm sooooo used to with recons. But nope, didn't happen.
