Discover More CLI help?

Hey everyone, I have a question regarding my Discover More card. Hopefully someone here can help me out.

I've had a Discover More card since 2010 with a credit limit of $1700. A week or so ago I called requesting a CLI since I haven't received one since I got the card. The person who I spoke to said that she couldn't even put in a request for a limit increase. I have one 30 day late payment on it in Oct 2011. Is there a backdoor number I can call to speak to someone higher up? Currenty, my FICO score is 701. It was probably around 650 when I got the card. I've been working very hard to get my score up over the past year and have had a ton of success, thanks mostly to this forum.

In the past 4-5 days I've been approved for a CSP for $5000 and a BankAmericard Travel Rewards Visa Signature for $5000. I would assume that if they're willing to give me credit that I shouldn't have much of an issue getting a CLI from Discover.

With all this being said... What gives?

Any help is appreciated!

Re: Discover More CLI help?

Try these. I recently, as in yesterday requested a CLI from $1k to $10k. I didn't have any lates with Discover but I did have some 30 day lates with a paid off account. Have you spoken with an analyst as to why they won't allow?

Very nice increase, mine is at 1.2k and will be 6 months old next month... this makes me consider burning a hp

Re: Discover More CLI help?

I haven't called either of those numbers yet. Which one would I have better luck with? I spoke to a CSR, not an analyst (at least I don't think she was an analyst) and she wasn't able to help me much.

Re: Discover More CLI help?

I tried for an online CLI and it said the request could not be processed. I called in an a CSR entered the data, but was denied. She was VERY helpful, I asked her if there was anything I could do to further my cause and she ended up transferring me to a credit analyst. He took several minutes, asked me a series of questions and when all was said and done, they CLI'd me to 5k from 3k. (HP on TU) If you want a little advice on the talk with the analyst, be ready to explain why you need the increase and be ready to explain anything that is not "rock solid" on your reports..... Best of Luck !
