@528491 wrote:To prepare for my upcoming mini-spree, I paid down most of my $300 balance on my Discover IT, leaving only around $30. That was yesterday, and the statement closing date is today. However, contrary to what the payment posting date was supposed to be (yesterday), the $300 balance is still showing up today. Does this mean that when the statement closes today, it'll show $300 as a balance?
It should report with the $30 balance. The paragraph below is copied directly from Discover site...
"Payments made by 12:00 midnight Eastern Time any day except your Next Statement Closing Date will be credited to your account that same day. Payments made by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on your Next Statement Closing Date will be credited to your account that same day. Payments scheduled for the future will post on the same day the payment is scheduled for. Payments are withdrawn from your bank account within one to three business days following the payment posting date."

It did indeed report with a $30 balance.
Now all I can do is wait and hope it raises my EQ score by 7 points, so I can join the 700 club.
Ha. The same thing happened to me.
My close date is on 18th, so the statement will be available on 19th. I submitted the balance-PIF payment to Discover 6pm today (17th). Not sure how the statement will look like.
