Discover Pre-approval

Just the other day, I posted a message asking if Discover is a card worth having. I've always wanted one and was thinking about applying. Well, I opened my mailbox this morning and was excited when I received my very first prime card pre-approval letter ever, and it was from Discover. Was it fate? I applied and received a CL of $4,000. I have every card I've ever wanted except AMEX platinum, which I will ask for an upgrade from a Green Card in 8 months. I'm officially joining the Garden Club for at least a year.

Congrats! I have been happy so far with my Discover card. I'm sure you will as well. I will go for an Amex sometime soon.

Awesome! 4K CL is nice! I'm assuming you have zero baddies on your report? I want a Discover card so bad but unless I get some of my baddies GW'ed, it could be a while.

Yeah Baddies hurt but I got discover with baddies on my report (serious lates) the only thing they look is atleast 2-3 years of current history with no lates and collections. NO BKS too.

I received my Discover with 5 month recent credit history, no baddies on EQ, 1 on TU. Good history on recent credit though. I think Discover is looking to expand right now. I received a preapproval offer about 1 month after opting back in.

Being opted in with the credit bureaus allows them to share your info to CC companies that may want to offer you credit. It also allows them to disclose info for a number of other reasons, but that's probably the main thing.
