Discover Purchase Protection/Extended Warranty??

[ Edited ]

From what I understand, unless something's change, only select Discover customers get purchase protection and extended warranty. Am I correct?

If so then Discover must like me. I get a letter that my card now gets purchase protection and extended warranty, and I can see them under card benefits online.

Purchase Protection:

"You are automatically protected for 90 days and up to $500 on stolen or damaged purchases when your entire purchase is made with your Discover card."

Extended Warranty:

"Just use your Discover card and we will automatically double the original manufacturer's warranty up to one additional year on warranties of 36 months or less on items up to $10,000."

My AMEX cards are losing their appeal :smileyhappy:

I have this also. They're good benefits but Discover is lacking "return protection" whichis what a REALLY needed a month ago.

Re: Discover Purchase Protection/Extended Warranty??

It is my understanding that AMEX is still the best when it comes to protection/warranty, for it is easy to file and get the claim approved.

World MC and Discover will exhaust you with turnaround/paperwork before approving your claim.
